Labiaplasty is cosmetic surgery of the external folds of the vulva, the labia majora, and/or the labia minora. Labiaplasty is usually performed for aesthetic purposes but sometimes is used to correct functional problems as well.
The procedure can be done on an outpatient basis at our Upland Facility. The surgery usually lasts between 1 – 2 hours, and relaxation and recovery time will be required after the surgery. The patient will usually be able to walk comfortably within a week and may engage in sexual intercourse after 4 – 6 weeks.
How is labiaplasty performed?
Most vaginal rejuvenation treatments can be performed in our procedure room under local anesthesia — so you can drive yourself to and from your appointment. If the procedure is more extensive, you may require general anesthesia at an accredited facility — so you will need a responsible adult to drive you home following your procedure. Dr. Thomas Easter and his team can discuss your options and more during your consultation — so you may make any needed arrangements prior to your procedure. A labiaplasty is typically done with a trimming technique that removes excess tissue, then the remaining skin is stitched — so it is taut. Also available is the wedge procedure that cuts away a triangular piece of skin and extra folds from the clitoris before suturing the tissue closed.

I was recommended to Dr. Easter in 2015 by my GP for the Hormone Therapy. Let's just say it's been a life changing experience for me mentally and physically. I had struggled with female issues since my 20's and eventually resulted in a complete hysterectomy removing my ovaries was enduring Menopause at 40. Every Doctor I would see would want to put me on AntiDepressants as a quick fix. That was not an option for me because I think deep inside I knew it was my hormones. Dr. Easter was my last hope as I started suffering from severe depression. I remember walking into his office crying and telling him you are my last hope, HELP ME ... He was so kind and said to me" you are in the right place and I'm here to help" He suggested I come back in a week for me to check in because of how upset I was. I walked in smiling that week and felt like a different woman. I have now been a patient of His for 7 years and have referred everyone I know to him that is facing hormone imbalance. Hormonal Balance is real and can have serious side effects to your health Physically and mentally, not to mention stress on your relationships. I'm so thankful to have found Dr. Easter, not only for his knowledge in HRT, but his empathy with his patients. My only regret is that I wish I did more research to find him sooner... Along with my HRT I received I had the opportunity to try the Alma Duo that Dr. Easter now offers and "WOW" The combination of my hormone pellet therapy along with the Alma therapy is amazing. I do not want to get into too much in detail, but if you are sexually active and looking for a BOOST with your Husband/Wife/Partner, this is a must :) I will let Dr. Easter share all the benefits of this new treatment.. How much does a labiaplasty cost?
Vaginal rejuvenation surgery costs will be based on many factors. In your consultation with Dr. Easter, he will understand your needs and wants before developing your personalized treatment plan. Once you've made your choices for your vaginal rejuvenation surgery, Dr. Easter can start to estimate your costs. Women's Medical Group of Upland accepts many payments, and we can give you information on low-interest financing.
Will vaginal rejuvenation surgery cause insensitivity?
Like most surgeries, there may be short-term numbness in the treated area for a while. This is usually temporary as the vaginal tissue and skin recover. In regard to sexual sensitivity, it is important to realize that labia rejuvenation shapes the vaginal lips and will not affect the nerves of the clitoris. A skilled board-certified gynecologist like Dr. Easter, with many years of experience performing labiaplasties, will work around the clitoris so that a loss of sensitivity does not occur.
What is the recovery process like after a labiaplasty?
Prior to your surgery, Dr. Easter or a member of his team will discuss what you should expect after your labiaplasty, plus tips to make your recovery more comfortable. You will have some bruising and swelling in the treated areas, plus a certain amount of discomfort right after your surgery. You need to rest for at least a week before resuming non-strenuous activities. Dr. Easter will evaluate your healing during your follow-up appointments and let you know when you are able to resume exercise and sexual activity.
Are there nonsurgical vaginal rejuvenation treatments?
There are nonsurgical vaginal rejuvenation treatments that may help to improve mild to moderate looseness in your vaginal area. However, a labiaplasty is best for dramatic improvements to tighten and re-shape your labia. In your consultation with Dr. Easter, he will review your surgical and nonsurgical treatment options and make suggestions as to what will best fit your goals.
